Baby, I'm Blue considers the distance between what we see and what we assume we know. Her direct gaze, luminous eyes, pearlescent lips, and metallic details invite attention. Blue from the surrounding environment reflects across her face, making her visibly part of the world around her.

Beauty, composure, and being "well put together" can easily become evidence in stories we create about other people. We see someone who appears confident, vibrant, or at ease and begin filling in the rest.

The work asks the viewer to look longer and question those assumptions. How much do we really know about someone from what they allow us to see?
