The Labor of Grace

The Labor of Grace depicts three Black women dancing against the weight of a world that offers them little comfort. Their movement reflects the labor of masking--the practiced composure and grace required to protect what cannot always be safely shown. Yet they do not move alone. They witness, affirm, and steady one another, creating the support the world withholds. What appears effortless carries weight; what appears graceful requires work. Unfortunately, the world does not give them grace. They must build it, sustain it, and pass it between them.
